Rainfall Acidity The pH of rainwater was measured at selected sites during the year 2005 to determine the current state of rainwater acidification in the country. On an annual average basis, the pH of rainwater in the northwestern and northeastern states of Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak is in the normal range of 4.8 to 5.2. However, rainwater in the western and southern states with the exception of South Johore during 2005 is slightly acidic with average pH of between 4.4 and 4.8. The average pH of rainwater in South Johore especially in the Senai area is below 4.4. Rainfall Acidity in 2005
