Hot And Dry Weather Throughout Malaysia
The present hot and dry weather occurring throughout our region is a normal phenomenon that occurs in the month of March and is associated with the weakening of the northeast monsoon. From the observation, the weather in the Southern Hemisphere is more active compared with the Northern Hemisphere. Because of this, our region particularly Peninsular Malaysia is currently experiencing a dry weather. Equinox (when the sun crosses the celestial Equator) is another phenomenon that typically occurs in the month of March. The sun's position is expected to be overhead of the equator on this coming 21 March 2003. This factor is causing a hotter weather in our region. Isolated inland rain showers however can still occur during this period but only with little accumulated rainfall and localized type of rainfall.
The table below shows maximum temperature (°C) recorded in every state from 1 - 5 March 2003.
