This project was launched on 12 July 2008 in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah witnessed by Datuk Dr Maximus Ongkili, Malaysian Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, by Datuk Douglas Uggah Embas, Malaysian Minister of Natural Resources and Environment and HE Boyd McCleary, British High Commissioner to Malaysia.

Report On Heavy Rainfall That Caused Floods In Malacca on 22 April 2008

Strong convergence of southeasterly and easterly winds over southern Straits of Malacca resulted in thunderstorms and heavy rains during the night on the 22 April 2008 and early morning on the next day. This factor brought floods to several areas in Malacca especially over Melaka Tengah and Alor Gajah districts.
